Staying Visible

I’m thinking 2014 will be my year. However, there’s still half of 2013 to consider. I don’t want to rush. Patience, I’m told, is a virtue. Time is on my side. But I’m feeling the pressure to stay visible.

I haven’t been promoting my two full length books and one novella. I’m writing. Practice makes perfect. I don’t want to be perfect. I want to tell a good story, appease my muse and have an outlet for the voices in my head.

So how will I stay visible for the remainder of 2013? Personally, I like connecting with others through my Facebook fan page. Next would be my blog. Otherwise, I’m giving myself permission to take it easy for the rest of the year.

I’m a mother of four, wife to one and work full time. That’s enough commitments to fill anyone’s plate.

Staying visible is important to me as an author and a brand. But my sanity is a priority. Every day, I strive to be visible to my family and friends by taking a break, listening to my body, enjoying my surroundings, smiling, laughing, and feeling.

Being visible to those who matter the most is what shapes us into who we are and who we will be. Our experiences translate into better and deeper stories. With all the living I’m doing, 2014 will definitely be Ashlyn Mathews’s year.
