I can’t believe 2012 has come to an end. What do you do on New Year’s Eve? Do you have a family tradition?

My family and I like to spend the evening at home in our PJs. We live in the Pacific Northwest and it’s too cold for the kids to be out until midnight. So every year we turn on the t.v. and watch the countdown. My kids ooh and ahh at the fireworks shooting off of the Space Needle.

After the firework show, we toast each other with glasses filled with sparkling cider. Then we run out onto the front porch and yell “Happy New Year” to the neighbors. The kids have fun and my husband and I get in our first laugh of the year :).

For my giveaway, I have a “Leatherette Journal.” As it says on the tag, why not start your 2013 by thinking, creating and recording with style? As a writer, I try to have a notebook or piece of paper with me in case a scene pops into my head. If I don’t get the scenes down, I might not get it back. Odd, I know :). I hope you enjoy the firework show in your time zone, whether live or on the television.

If you like fireworks of passion in your romance novels, be sure to include the steamy stories of a relatively new author like myself in your 2013 to-be-read pile. For a limited time, my contemporary novella, IF ONLY, is free on Amazon! Again, thank you for stopping by and have a happy and safe 2013!

Here is my giveaway! Leave a comment for a chance to win this journel. Psst, there’ll be a secret gift inside :).

  25. No traditions or resolutions for me this year, Hubby and I stayed at home this year, we had a nice evening with the fire place going, I had a glass of wine and about 8:30 hubby wanted to watch Batman Rising. It ended just in time before the New Year for our New Year Kiss, which by the way was interupted by our 3 big dogs who jumped up on the couch with us – LOL They were scared from the loud noises coming from the fireworks going off outside – LOL It was funny but was all good, we just laughed and realized how much love we have in our lives.

    Happy New Year

  52. My mom and I traditionally have our “midnight meal” on New Year’s Eve, consisting of appetizers and snack foods, while we wait for the ball to drop. (We used to watch the Twilight Zone marathon on SyFy, but since we cut cable in 2012, we didn’t this year.) We sip on sparkling pear juice instead of wine.
