I’ve Been Tagged!

Apparently, I’ve been tagged by Sharon Clare, a fellow Crimson Romance author, to talk about my WIP. Thank you, Sharon! I’ve just finished with edits for my two upcoming releases, My Fallen (paranormal, January 14th) and If Only (contemporary novella, December 3rd) so I’m very ready to work on my next projects.

Here’s the blurb:

Two houses at war — the House of Lancasters and the House of O’Days. She is a Lancaster, the Alpha, the beginning of her kinds’ hope for survival while the man she runs from, an O’Day, is rumored to be the Omega, the one who will crush her spirit, love her to submission, and never look back.

Here’s the questions:

What is the title of your book? Protector Resurrection — Rise of Phoenix, Book 1 of the Extinction Trilogy

Where did the idea for the book come from? The idea comes from my fascination with the tale of star-crossed lovers, Romeo and Juliet, and my interest in writing a story about dark and obsessive love.

What genre does your book fall under? Paranormal romance/urban fantasy

Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition? I’m not sure. When I write, I bring up pictures of models to guide me.

What is the one sentence synopsis of your book? Fated to fight, destined to love, two enemies must forge a bond to save their kinds from extinction.

Will your book be self-published or agented? I’m unagented so once I’m done, I’ll be submitting the MS to different publishers.

How long did it take you to write the first draft of the manuscript? Smiles. I haven’t begun.

What other books within your genre would you compare your WIP to? Lately, I’ve been writing and editing more than I’ve been reading, so I don’t have a good answer for that. But I aspire to be like one of my favorite paranormal authors, Nalini Singh.

Who or what inspired this book? Shakespeare. I love his stories of familial conflict and betrayal in the midst of love affairs.

What else about your book might pique the readers’ interest? I hope to make this story a dark tale full of a roller coaster ride of emotions, so it would have to appeal to a reader who is specifically looking for something like that.
